Rapson denied that he hit the man. but tihe referee seated that he did, and' cihairacerised the incident as a deliberate a/nd foul one. Rfapson fnid %hat whist a player was forcing his way through the other players, after a Miie out, he (Rapson) placed one t<f his ba.nds on. the man's chin and .shoved him back. ,'Regret was expressed that the management comim-itLee's members in Wei-, iington/had lxt the power to report rases of roughness, Jap could be done in Otago. /.-.-,. The chairman (Air E.'. O. Hades) said that the N..Z. Rugby Union had absolutely up-set the rule last year, when a.main was. reported by,the Otago Union for roughness, but the de-' cision wa's over-ruled by the N.Z.
