CRIME IN SYDNEY
TWO BURGARIES REPORTED. (Received last night, 9.25 o'clock.) SYDNEY, May T. Two burglaries were reported to-day, and in both cases small hauls were made. BURGLAR SENTENCED. (Received last night, 9.25 o'clock.) SYDNEY, May 7. Alfred Smith has been found guilty of breaking into a house at Randwick, and also Shooting at Thompson, the occupier, with intent to murder. He has been sentenced to 14 years on the first count, and to life on the second count.
Tho Judgo remarked that he would leave it to the executive to be decided •as to what the sentence meant.
