WAIRARAPA PASTORAL SOCIETY.
The Wairarapa and East Cca.st Pastoral and Agricultural Society are to be congrtulated on the enthusiasm displayed by flheiir members and the executive. There was a large attendance at their annual meeting at Cartertoiin on Saturday, and considerable interest- was shown 'in the progress of the Society. The newly elected President, Mr E'. Eagle junir., is a practical farmer/ and one who has a.hvays taxen a keen interest ib promoting the pastoral and agricultural interests of the district. The same may be said of he two Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. 'Henry Booth and H. Moristan. A (strong Committee has been elected and proposaHs were made for 'improvements in the showgrounds for the care and protection of stock, and the convenience of the public. The members' xolJ has been (further increased by the 'addition! of several new settlers in the diJtriofc, and the prospects for tihe next dhow are idecided'y good.
