A TOUR OF INSPECTION.

A. ■Hainan ■and To .Ranigihirfia were motored to .'various pliaccs-.of' interest in the Borough cf Masterton and the surrounding district. , In the forenWon the Ministers, accompanied by His Wc<r■sliijp the Mayor (Mr J. M. Oo'radine), ;M'r G ; . Sykes, member for the di&-•'■j'k-t, Mr El G'. Eton, chairman of the Charitable Aid Board, and Drs. Hos<king, Cowie amd .(Jcok, visited tflio <Mlasiterton Ifctspitai, and were shown'■aver the whole b-tfikling. Both Miaiiis.ter.s expressed themselves as greatly (pleased with the 'institution, which they considered rfoTOpa'fed- .very. :f »v----oiniahly with any hospital in the Dominion. The party then, rco'tored tlrrough to Longbush, and visited the different schools em route. The Gladistonc School was vieited, and being tJhe chief -scihwl in tliat district, domelittle time was spent in inspecting the school and grounds. The school' garden", which fnr several yenrs has fiaken •first prize for aciiooi gardens in the WdlllTigiton' Educ'nltrVm district, came •in- for very great praise from the Minister for Education, who expressed himself as greaitly iplea,sed to visit g-ucli a well-kept sohfool. He 'stated that •there was rtothing in- his district in *he South, Island that came anywhere near <tho garden and. grounds of the Gladstone Sribcol, w'birth afforded a •splendid example of wliafc can bo done by rural classes in- State gcliools. Tho paitty thut adjourned to Mr J. •Strang's, "Glenskle," • .where lunch was enjoyed, and afterwards proceed'cd to Lion.gbusb, whr-re' the local school v/a-s visited.
