HOCKEY

Tho P. and T. Club played St. Matthew's yesterday afternoon at Lansdowne, and an excellently contested game resulted in a draw. Both teams -showed considerable improvement on tho previous week, and the game was keenly contested from the call of the whistle, and some fine combination was shown by both sides. For the P. and T. team Burrows and Diggins played a sterling game, while all tho forwards played witli great dash, but were unable to penetrate the goal line. For St. Matthew's Boyd and Dixon played well in the backs, and Douglas and Gray played <a solid forward game. Mr Rosson gave satisfaction as referee.
