RUGBY UNION PROTEST
ACAINST MILITARY PARADES. (By Telegraph l —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, La.Et Night. The Wellington Rugby Union feels ■apprehensive regarding the effect ■which the four military daylight parades, which are expected to take (place this month, will have upon football. "I think we ought to make a mighty big protest, about it. I think we ought to make those Mokes sit up," remarked GVIr F. C Atkinson at thus evening's meeting of the union's management committee, when the discussion was proceeding respecting these parades. "Four Saturdays they want!" declared another delegate, in answer to a question as to the numiber of parades. tl lt would kill our junior football for the season," said Mr Atkinson. "And a. lot of our senior football, too," intimated Messrs W. Hardha.m land W. Perrv.
"We had better confer with, the 'soccer' and hockey people," suggested Mr A. E. Wilson. "I know they «re going into the question. Messrs E. O. HaLes, iW. Perry and J. Burns were deputed to confer with tlie other winter sports- bodies, with the object of approaching the Defence •autt'lioritiesoii the matter.
