VEDRINES S SKULL FRACTURED

Whilst J. Vedrines was llying from Douai in Franco to Madrid, a su<>deu wind caused him to volplane 6PO feet. In attempting to avoid son™ telegraph wires the machine crashed to I tint ground, and felLin front of a train, I which was stopped with difficulty. Vedrines s skull was fracture.;. He is in a critical condition. Vedrines is a well-known French pilot aviator. He was born at St. Denis on December i'r'3i. He qualified for his cer ,; ficate i:i •* Bleriot machine, l>ut 7iow uses u nioriiHG plane or Goupy biplane, and is one of the most noted cross-eountry fliers. Last March, at Pau, he beat tho world's flight speed record, covering 102 miles at the speed of 186 niles j-er hour.
