'EXTERMINATING THE CHINESE
HEAVY LOSSES ON BOTH SIDES
LO'NDON, April 29.
Reports from Lhassa state that the Tibetan forces are estimated to number ten thousand. A portion of tihem (have surrounded a thousand Chinese .troops iin the southern suburbs. Several buildings were burnt. Tho aggregate losses of the Tibetans is set do win at 900 killed, and of the Chinese 300. The Chinese troops captured the wife and children of the Dalai Lama's brother. ■ (On itOie 6th inst. a cable message if-rom Calcutta stated: "The Chinese Ambassador at Ltbassa has hoisted the flag, and the officials have discarded their queues and donned frock coats and tail hats. Tibet is now jwi'i't of t'ho Szechuan Provnce. Tlw> Tibetans are preparing to exterminate the Chinese.")
