LARGE STORE DESTROYED

£45,000 DAMAGE.

BRISBANE. April 30. A new four-storied building 'in Edward and Mary Streets, and (occupied by the Queensland Agency as a wholesale dry goods store, has been destroyed by fire. _ Tho damage is estimated at £15,000. Tho building and stock were covered by insurance. A number of man-o'-warsmen, from tho gunlxrat Gaynndah, were stainding on the roof of an adjoining building, assisting the fire-brigade, when a part of tho wall fell on them. One of the number, named Walter Oldham, was killed, and another, Alexander Smith, was injured.
