OPAKI SCHOOL

THE ANNUAL PICNIC.

The Opaki School picnic was hold at Mr Cotter's Burwsido, on Friday, 2l)bh April. The weather was showery at times, but the picnic was a very successful one, and was attended by a 1.1 the parents and children, and a giobd many visitors'. Stone-Wigg and G. Mow bray 2, a:K) Yards.— €. Dickson. 1, C. Heneon 2. Sack .Race— A. M. Stone-Wigg 1, G.. Dickson. 2. Girls' 50 Yards Jtteure.— G. Burgess 1, B .Peary 2. Girls' Sack Race.- A. Bnick 1, L. Cotter 2. Man-ried Tvonwai's R.aco. — Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Mowbray 2. Married Men's Race.— Mr Cotter 1, M,r Campbell 2.

-Nail Driving.— Miss Bourkc 1, Mrs Campbell 2, Sack Race.— 1". Smith 1, Mrs Watson 2.

Three-legged R.ace.— Mioses Henson. 1, A. Buiek and F. Smith 2. At tne eonclns.ion of the races, and after tea, prizes were presented to the winners by Miss Marryatt, each child in the school also receiving a hook.

Mr Stone-Wigg, on behalf of the Committee, thanked those who had tfonateu funds for prices, also Mr and Mrs Cotter for the v.ac of their grounds. Cheers were given for Miss Marryat, M,r and Mrs Cotter and Mr Stonc-Wipg.
