TAKAPUNA POISONING CASE
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST.

AUCKLAND, Last Ndghf. The supposed poisoning case at Takapima" proves to have been really a. case, of death from cerebral hemorrhage. Medical evidence at the in-q-u-st on, Mrs (Nicolson. shewed that- the post mortem had disclosed a ruptured cerebral artery. Deceased had a,definite heart lustovf',' exteiii|wYg- ; _ over-many-years, and copulations* were such as might have caused suddeiy death at any time. Dr Fairclough Said he did not consider that .the. taking of any particular food or drink had any diiv ect influence in causing death, though possibly gaseous- liquid, such as hop beer (at first -supposed to be the cause of death) might have caused disteiusion, of the stomach, and go affected the heart's action. V Mr Cornell u« Lift-10. the husliand cf Mrs Little (Mrs. -Nicholson's sister), avlio Avas also taken ill in tho sam* Avay, stated that his Avife Avas subject to heart trouble, and that her brother recently died from renditions similar to those described by Dr Fairclough". Commenting on this evidence, D/r Fairclough said that the statement iboro out the idea that arfciKal degeneration often runs in families. Tho jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical ovidc-tiee. Mrs Little was still in a serious condition five afternoon. Her ease is also one of cerebral hemorrhage.
