SPECIAL CATTLE SALE. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a'very successful special cattle sale yesterday, 1000 head being yarded. consisting of well-grown and young. - cattle. Bidding was spirited ail through, and an almost total clearance was made. Duo to the season, the bulk of the cattle were in splendid'condition, and reflected credit on tho districts drawn, from. On account of the rough weather, cattle came forward slightly under advertised numbers. Quotations: —4 and o-ycar bul- , locks, £6 17s to £7 os; 3-year bullocks, £5 i>s to £6 16s; forward cows, to £5 4s; fipeved heifers, to £4 lis 6d; store cows, to £1 16s; 20-months steers, to £4 ; weaners, to £2 14s; -heifers in calf, to £6 10s; cows in calf, to £5 10s.
