Tho shooting season lias been fixe;] from May Ist to July 31st, and in the Wellington district native and imported game may be shot. Imported and native game shall no'-, bo killed, however, on lands set apart, as sanctuaries or reserves for, theie preservation. The number of native game that may 'be killed, by any one person in any one day, is restricted to twenty-five head in all. The following birds arc indigenous to New Zealand, and are not now deemed to be protected :—Pnkeko, teal, grey duck, spoonbill duck, black swan, wild gcc.so, and paradise duck.
