MAN AND HIS WIFE KILLED SHOT WHILE AT-DINNER.'. (Received April 24, 9.30 a.m.) ' SYDNEY, April 24. Mails from the New Hebrides report the brutal murder off a Mr Turier and his wife at the Maskelyne Islands, near Malekula. Turier was manager; of the Labour Station. Both he and his wife were shot by natives as they were sitting at dinner. Mrs Turier received a bullet in the back of her head. When hex body was discovered she ,was still holding a soup tureen, which she had been in the act of placing on the table. Mr Turier was sitting with ins back to the table. He. had a ibo-Hffcfin the chest and another in the arm, the limb being shattered. It is supposed the crime was committed in vengeance for.illegal recruiting by some whites in the past.
