A largely attended meeting <„>f professional jnusiciai's was hold in the Mnstertouf Technical School on Saturday nigiirt, who[i it was unanimously decided to form a Society of Professional Musicians in Ma«stcd;ou, and to iini'Jily adopt rules which have been framed at a previous mectinig. j Among :tihose present were.— Mrs A. J. Cooper, A.T.C.L., L.A.8., Misses ißkhop, Evans, Jj.A.B., Hamilton, A.Mais. T.0.L., Hood, A.T.C.L., W. Jones, A.T.C.L., iL.A.B., Hieliards, C.P.T.C.L., Meters Claughton, Wallace and Vcbb. Apologies were received from Mais R. K. Jackson and Miss V. 'Edwards. The objects of tho Association are to advance- the .art any science of music generally, and ,to consider all /matters affecting t!he interests' aud welfare of the profcesGon and protection of tho musical public. Also to encourage and render any necm-aty •assistance- to anasic students (requiring (help. An:;rtour musicians or persons interested in music may be nominated as associates. The elscticn of effieem resulted as follows: President, Mr Purcell Webb; vice-presidents, Mrs A. ,1. Cooper and M,r !R. .Boyeg; lion. iKecretary and treasurer pro-, item, Mr H. H. Oaugluon.
