At the H.B. Motor Cycle Qub'i sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumph* again practically <wept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines reDresenting 6 dafrerenife makes the Triumphs secured ten firsts, Beven see* ends, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven, event®. . , , This performance is- all the more remarkable when it is confioflered that the Triumphs bad to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the tea first machines were ridden by amateuir ridors. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on bis Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt ow the existing figure* of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhrs3smd.il., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffef on New Year's Day, 1909, also on. a Triumph. In spite of Beveral attempts on other makes of machines, this record has l stood- to the credit of the Triumph, for .three vears. Mr Brefthwatte left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier 'Post Office "at 10.57 a. p., his time being Ghrs. SSmin.., lowering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in, petrol and oil. It to only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33} miles an. hour ever 230 .miles of New ZeaTland roads. # Those who were at the Napier Post OfiSce at the finish conrd uot help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph' is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and Jong wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
