MR J. M. CURAIHNE AT KURIPUNI.
I Mr J. M. Coradine addressed about '•sixteen people in the Kuripuni Hcill 'Oast evening. Mr PauLing. presided. Mr Corad in e ithen briefly referred to road works, drainage (and water schemes, removal 'and completion "of Gasworks, various • street works, Dixon Street baths, j Technical School, macadamising of • Queen (Street, and several other im[,porfean.t works, all of which he was directly responsible for, or took a prominent pant ,in the carrying out of. All these went to show that his claim for the position of chief magistrate wias a justifiable one. Mi' Coradine emphatically denied' Mr Hfcar's fefatement in reference /to the CfeswOrks being duie "milk cow" oil' the Borough, as on no occasion had Trvcney been taken from .the Goraworks for any other work. The (Gasworks were not aHc t-o .'tand it. If '6uch were the case, lie (Mr Coradine) •would be the first to favour fetich a scheme, and the Borough had power, •to c'j this 'if neoeroary. MR HOAR IN MURRAY'S HALL.
Mr T. G- Hoar addressed about (fifty electors in Murray's Hall last evening, a large {proportion of those jpresen.t' being ladies. The chair was occupied by Councillor A. Donald. The candidate epoke at some 'kngith on the lines of Jiis Knripuni speech, /traversing the action of tihe Council in allowing .the (Gas Manager to take touiteide .work, a-nd urging better attention to the admin* trative work of the Borough. /Mr Hoar was well received, and after outlining the policy :he would adopt if elected Mayor, he Avas aeoorded a hearty vote of thanks.
