RETURN OF THE OLYMPIC
WIRELESS MESSAGES
(Received. Last Night, 10.35 o'clock.) LONDON, April 22. The White Star liner Olympic has Arrived. The officers state that the vessel was 560 miles from the Titanic when a jfireless message was received through the Celtic. , ■ Tho Olympic's' stokers and engineers Worked like Trojans, and forced the' speed of the vessel up to twenty-four Jknots for thirteen hours. The tension avas relieved temporarily by a wireless •niessagfl stating that all aboard tho ■Titanic had been saved; but the Carpathia later informed the Olympic of <€he truth, and the vessel resumed her royage. ■-. The Virginia states that she receiv*«d si;"wireless-message-from Gape Race notifying the Titanic's danger at 12.40 o'clock. She was then 178 miles distant. The Titanic sent a wireless message that she was sinking at 1.20. The wireless messages ceased at 1.47 a.m. abruptly. Three penrl necklaces, tho property 4*f one of the survivors, were insured •:»t Lloyds for £140,000. t They are believed to be saved.
