MEETING OF STEWARDS
The ..monthly meeting of.ltho stewards o.l' the iM'a&terton. Racing ;Club was on 'S'atai relay sriicctmooii last. There -were present,— .Messrs 0. F. Yallance (iHnurman), H. Yates, D. ftlcLachlan, A. G. Pilmer, 0. C. Cooper, J. Toms, 111. Buick, W. Cooper, Jus. Macara and A. J. Welch. It was decided to .refund the noma-, nation and acceptance money on Miss Vena. Wiia reference to the applications for lost and destroyed tickets on the >hcrso Rahani, it having been 'pointed out that these were in excess ctf the .■outstanding unpaid tickets, it was de■okled to inform the applicants .Ifliat the CM)' could not recognise any claim wnleiiS tickets wore produced. The N.Z. Racing Conference wrote stating, that the Civ,!'.) 'had not yet donated .the £33 .to the Sports. Protection .League.— It was decided to write and state rtihat tJio Club had not so far Agreed to ipay this amount, also lasking 'wibat amount other country OLubs were paying in comparison with, Metropolitan Ciubs. Tllio consideration of the '-applications for the position 'of starter was held, over. It was .resolved to apply for Oetober lvtih and 18th for the summer .meeting, and March 13th and 14th for the autumn .meeting. The interim balance idheet for thej last meeting was laid (before 'the meet-1 ing, and showed a credit. balance of over £SOO, which was considered very satisfactory, when it was taken into consideration, that ithe e'um of £451 6s was paid to the Government as totaliisator tax. .^ Jt was resolved to hold a Ground Committee .meeting next Saturday, at • 10 a.iin., on the course, to 'filially de-[ eide about lithe erection "of -the new ; Steward's Stand."
