WONDERFUL KSUORD OF BDO CESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At th« H.B. Motor Cycle 01ub'« sports lisj-ld on the Hastings Racecourse oa Boxing Day, the iViumpfaa again practically -<wept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes, the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. .•?» This performance is all the_ more remarkable when it is considered tfliat the Triumphs had to concede largo handicaps to machines of equal powor and six of the ten. first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt om the existing figures of fch© Wellington to Napier record—viz.. Bhrs SSmin.j/establisihled by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other malces of machines, this record has l stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Braithwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year'# Day, and arrived at the Napier Poet Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hjrß. 38min., Towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from atart to finish, th© only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 83$ miles an hour over 230 milesi of New Zealand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish coufd not help but (remark on the perfect condition of the machino at th© finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It haa proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adaptedr to New Zealand roads.
