Bates, of the rological Office, this evening issued the following report:— The barometer ha-S risen where, with southerly winds strong to gfrle during the night, with a decided improvement in the -weather after ',! a very squally 1 night- in most parts of rtiie country. Plresent indications are for fair weather and variable winds generally, but strong wiestarlies are. probable in •.Foveaux Strait. little movement of the barometer is expected generally.
