THio installation will consist of a "Linde" refrigerating plant capable of making 18 tons of ice per 24 hours, driven by an 80 b.h.p. en-
closed ventilated typo electric motor. /Hie ammonia condenser will be of the
"atmospheric" type, containing over 5000 feet cf special ammonia, tubing; it will be manufactured in Niven and J Qb.'s Napier works, where an extensive plant is installed for this class of 'work. Mr D. J. Barry also recently ordered from Me<ssrs dNiven and 00. an "Linde" refrigerating plant tfor the Giisborne Brewery. It will be driven by a 70 b.h.p. "National" gas engine. I

"National" gas engines with suitable producer plants. A 26 b.h.p. "National" gas engine and producer plant for Messrs .0." L. Innes and Co., of Hamilton, cfoy; two tallow digester .>, two refindriven hydro-extractors and a "Petrie" wool dryer capable of dealing with SGOI-bs of wool per hour, for the South Ota go Freezing Co., Balclutha.

| Messrs. Niven and Co. have just j.rJwnpleted three installations of National ga.s engines and producer plants in Wellington, viz., a 44 bJh.p. for Messrs E. H. Crease and Son, Ltd., j*m and piekje manufacturers; a 36 b.h.p. for Mr Ei Golley, furniture manufacturer; and.a 63 b.h.p. for the Wellington Cordage Co., Ltd. ■Electric lighting plants were also installed in Messrs Crease and CblJoy's establishment*, and at the present "time an extensive plant is being installed at the Wellington Gas Company's works at Miramiar. It consists- of two 36 and one 62 b.h.p. "National" giae engines, a compound Wound electric generator, 153 amperes lit 230 revolutions per minute, and it wo generator© of ihe same type, but 79 amperes a.t 250 revolutions per mwmito; also a Gwynno "In-vinoible" 'type lallnbrass pressure ,pump capable of delivering 10,000 gallons of water per hour against a head of 130 Feet, driven by a 13 b.h.p. electric motor. It is apparent that Messrs Niven and Co. play a. very important part I -in the engineering industry of the Dominion, and with such -a substantial lis.i of contracts in hand they are making na excellent start for the financ•ial year just commencing.
