THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH.

WONDERFUL &2aX>BD OF SDOCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES.

At tiie H.B. Motor Cycle Olnb't sports held on the Hastings , # Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically wept tie board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Tnnmphe' iseoured ten firsts, seven seo» ends, and 4 tnfcrdß out of a possible eleven events.

This performa noe i s all the _ more remarkable when it is considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps'to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines, were ridden by amateur rid^re. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph'motor cycle to make an aittem.pt om the existing figureß of the Wellington to Napier jejord—viz., Bhrs 85min., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has l stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Brathwiaite left the Wet lington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier' Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6h<rs. 38min., lowering the previous record by nearly tow© hourß* The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stop® being 'to take in: petrol and oil. It is l only .perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can. average 3«H males an hour over 230 milesi of New ZeaSland roadß. # • Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish coußl not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph ia not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads. We can deliver both fixed and free engine mode-la from" stock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers at aH times.
