LOCAL GOVERNMENT BILL.
Does the Mackenzie Gcoveniment seriously intend bringing down a Local Government Bill in. the first session of Parliament? A proposal miade that delegates from local authorities should meet together and discuss the Bill. This does not imply rthat the Bill will be gone on with. If the 'delegates'-express themselves, as they 'probably wiif do, unaaiimously against the jumbling together of all sorts of administrative bodies in. one irreconcilaible whole, the chances are that nothing nfore will be heard of the Bill. In the meantime, does Mr Mackenzie intend spending the £IOOO ibis predecessors set aside for the purpose of giving delegates a holiday jaunt to Wellington?
