Motor Cycle sport® held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the J&u;mpihisJ again practically wept' tiie board. Out of an entry of >l2 machines representing 5 different make® tie Triomphg secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is- considered flhat the Triumphs had to concede [large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were riddten by amateur riders. On Saturday ; December 80th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left, "for Wellington on hiß Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhrs 35min., establiß'hed by Mr H. .L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite oi several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of tho Triumph for three years. Mr Bra/thwaiite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's' Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hra. 38min., Towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made ftrom the finest material procurable that can average 3SJ miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zealand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not' help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the fimdsh. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
