WELLINGTON, Last Night. The football season opened on Saturday, with a sevema-si.de tournament at the Atihlettic Park. There was a large attendance. The Athletics beat Southern by 15 to nil, winning the senior .tournament. Sixteen teams took part. In the fifth claiss tournament, .Wellington College won the final from Melrose by 17 to nil. Eight teams participated in thi-. The weather was .fine, but cold. Batty, a member of the Southern team had an arm broken in the final, through colliding with the grandstand. v
