At the H.B. Motor Cycle GkVa sports held on the Hastings # Racecourse on Boxing Day, tike Triumphs practically wept the board. Out of on entry of 12 machine* rep_-rt-seuting 5 different make* tine Triumphs secured ten firsts, Beven seconds, and 4'thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance i» all the more remarkable when it i® considered that the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and sis of the ten first machin»s were ridden by amateur rider*. On Saturday, December SOth, Mr J L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt o» the exiting figures of the Wofington to Napier reoordviz., Bhra 85min., estahlisjied bj' Mr H L. Schaeffer on New Year » Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spit© of several attempts on other makes of machine*, this record ha» «£»«*; the credit of the Triumph for three vears. Mr Brathwaite left the Wellington Po&t Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., Ma time being 38niin,, lbwermg the previous record by nearlyJw» hoars.
