THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL i;SX>RD OF SUO CESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. , At the H.B. Moior Cycle Club's sports held on tlie Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically -wept thefiboard. Out of an entry of 12 machines rep* resenting 5 different makefe'tHe Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven s©o-o-ncs, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. ' This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered tifaat>- the Triumphs had to concede l ; arge*handicaps to machines of equail power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30fch, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make aai attempt o» the existing figures of the Wellincton to Napier viz.. Bhrs 35mkt., established byMr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year'® Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite or several attempts on other makes of machines,' this record has l stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Brathwaits left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hrs. 38min.., Toweiramg the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finiHh, the only two stop® being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33$ miles -an hdur over 230 miles of New Zealand roads. Those who were at: the Napier Post Office at the finish ooufii not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph' is not only made' for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for 'hard wprk and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
