WORK BEING RESUMED
LABOUR LEADER'S PROPHECY.
(Received Last Night, 11.15 o'clock;)
LONDON, April 9. There are 180,000 miners now working, and the majority of the others > will resume to-day, though there is much ill-feeling in the North of England on account of work being resumed. The-resumption of work in Durham and North .Wales has been delayed by the attitude of the enginemen. The Durham, engineers are now earning 5s 4d per .shift, 1 and demand an increase of Bd, and an eight hours' day. The masters are offering,an increase of 4d. ' ■ Mr : V. -Hartshorn/,, the Olaimorgin Lalbour leader,, speaking at Maesteg, ' said that preparations were, -being made'foiva. labour imovfement of unpm. ! cedenited magnitude.
