CARTERTON.
At the annual meeting of the Carterton Hockev CHrb. the balance-sheet showed a credit of .-£lB Os 9d. Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P.. was elected patron, and Mr K Eagle, .jmir., President. Mr C. M. Why to was re-elected Secretary and Treasurer. It was decided to'open the season on Thursday. April 18th, and to enter a senior and junior team in the championships. ' The balance-sheet of the recent bazaar held by tho Carterton, Volunteer Fire Brigade shows a credit of £3OO 8s (>d. This will enable the brigade to wipe tho mortgage off the station ar.d procure dress uniforms, m addition to improving the building.
