DECLARING THE STRIKE OFF. A GENERAL RESUMPTION. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, April I. There is every indication that the Miners' Federation will declare the strike "off' to-day. The decrease in tlie railway business in consequence of the strikes is estimated at £2,500,000. ' The owners and men in Lancashire and in South Wales have appointed Boards to fix the minima. Further resumptions have taken place in Scotland. The miners in North Staffordshire and Wales will all resume 7 , to-day. The miners' war-chest- at Durham, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, and Nottingham still contains £750,000. THE RELIEF. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, April 4. The Princo of Wales has given £SOO towards tho Strikes Relief Fund. RIOT IN G IN FJ FESHIRE. WILD SCENES. (Received April 4, 10 a.m.) LONDON, April 3. Though only two-thirds of the miners voted on the question whether or not work would be resumed, an increasing number of pits are re-open-ing. ■ Mr Ashton, secretary to the Miners' Association, states that as a two-thirds majority had produced a strike, a twothirds majority was necessary to continue it. Two thousand men and jvomen -attempted to hinder non-unionists at the Glencraig pit, in Fifeshire. There were wild scenes. Fifty police, mostly mounted, made several charges, the rioters replying with heavy volleys of stones. Order was eventually restored. Strikers smashed numerous windows of .houses at Pontypool, Wales, in connection with grievances regarding the working of coal outcrops. Many were injured, one critically. _ ' ,
