NEW DEFENCE MINISTER.
The Hon. A. Myei'is, the new Minister ifol- Defence-, has hardly yet found his feet. It is interesting to note, however, that he ha© declared it to be the intention of the Government to enforce the Defence Act as it stands, thfougih, almost in the came breath, be says tbe Cabinet is co'nlsidering, the question of the remission l of sentences now being served. If the Act is to be) enforced .there must be no renuisaion. The law ina:st be allowed to fake its 'couirse. if Ministers have mot the backbone to administer the laws of tbe country, they are not fit for their positions. v
