Owing to the decrease in the m>i:lk supply, the services of the second assistant at the cheese- factory have nojv been dispensed with for the resit of the season, but it is expected that, the factory will remnin open for at least another two months. Tine latter part of the fishing seivson lias .been somewhat of a disappointment to anglers in this district, as owing ito the frequent floods in the ri.vers during the last three months very poor sport, has been obtained. The Rev. Wtalke, of Eketahuna, conducted church service in the Public Hall on Sunday afternoon. There was a very fair congregation. At the conclusion of the service, the Sacrament of Baptism was administered. Considerable intere'st is being taken here in the Nareaha Sportis, which are to be held on. Easter Monday, and should the day be fine, the sports will probably be well patronised by residents from this district.
