BOYS FOR FARM WORK.
The Feildling branch of the Farmers' Union is endeavouring .to arrange for the importation of further batches of English boys for farm work in the Dominion: This opens up <n very wade question. Are we', in New Zea.;lanid, justified in importing fann laibour, When we ha've an abundance jjf <it in tlhe country which requires only .to-he taken out of the .cities and the jurge towns? Should we not be doing something to create in our OWII yioung people, an attachment to the soil? Has the Government done all that it mishit do to discourage central.isatioii and to prepare the ri.sing generation Hor- Tin'at pursuits? It is a painful commentary upon our education system that farmers should find it necessary to go outsiide the Dominion for suitable farm labour.
