The Government will not proceed with the amendment which has more clearly defined the meaning of the phrase, "average daily rate of wages." Earl Crewe explained that the proposed amendment was not imporcant;, but the miners are suspicious of any change favouring the owners., and therefore it has been abandoned. , Lord Lansdownc has protested:
