FIRE AT WAIROA
SEVERAL BUILDINCS DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WAJROA, Last Night.. A disastrous fire occurred at the 'Marine Parade at.ii.4s this morning. •Corkill's new twe-stor y building oc-, cupied by the Borough Council as •chambers,' T. Bax s (fruiterer and «ttotk>neor) premises, a cottage at the ■war ■■owned by McK«uwo, and Wilkin's bicvele depot (owned by J. were all burned to the ound. , Hie fire started at Bax's office, and nbhere being no fire-fighting appliances •the fi.ro burned fiercely and soon attacked the cottage at the rear, and Alien came Wilkin*' conflagration. 4JBFIt was onlv stopped by a hnck at .the Bank of New Zealand and on tho other side by ferro concrete 'building. The Borough Council lose ""*" -all-records.
