The Masterton Racing Club is to be congratulated upon the excellent outHook for its autumn raw meeting, whicli opens to-dav. The Club has s>ne to ecus id enable enpeiiiso in recent months in bringing its appointments into line with thci.se of more .pretentious gatherings, and it now requires the practical assistance of the public to ensure tho permanent friability of the Club; The aweptanees for to-day's races a.re really first-ola&s, and a .good day's .sport is .assured. The Masterton Cihib is determined to do all in litis power to maintain th„e purity of the turf, and-ea«-a sof suspicious miming will be dealt with in a salutary manner.
