The marriage took place at Llanbe3e | j Parish Church, South Wales, on-the M 7th February, between Mass Dorothy Stuckey, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Stuckey, late of Te Rangitmnau, Mastcrton, and the Rev. M. S. F. Williams, 8.A., A icar or bt. John's. Ebbw Vale. Bishop Spi-ott paid his first visit to Pahiatua on Saturday last, and oil Sunday preached 'at St. Peters Church at the morning and evening services, and at Konini in the at tornoon. Mr and Mrs A. McFarlano and Miss MoFarl'ane, of Paliiatua, who have been on an extended motor trip through the South Island, arrived Home on Monday. s \ Mr W H. Hawkins, who is shortly leaving Bahiatna, was recently entertained at a soeial -by the members or the Pahiatua Bowling Club, of whioa be was for a number of years a prominent member. At tlhe meeting of - the Mastcrton Borough Council last evening, several Councillors complimented Mr Archer, Town Clerk, on the excellent work he bad done for the Borough during the past year. The Hon. Mr Menzies and Mr C. Sampson, M.P., members of the Victorian Parliament, who . have been spending a holiday in New Zealand, -V turned to Australia on Monday last. • *' General Baden-Powel, who is at present on a. tour of the world m connection with, tho Boy Scout movement, is to he tendered a civic reception on his arrival in Christchurch on May Slst.
