THE HANDICAPS. There is every indication that the second annual gathering of the Hukanui Picnic-Sports Club, which will be held at Hukanui on Thursday next. •will cclip.se the initial gathering. The committee have •[■•■ pent considerable time in preparing the track, which is now in excellent, condition. For the ibonefit of spectators, .seating accommodation has been provided along the terrace which ovenoks the running track. The terrace is so .situated that a very large crowd can view the progress of the sports without interruption. Great interest is being created in the local horse events, and owners arc busy preparing their steeds for the various races. The sports ground is a fe wmunites walk from Hukanui railway station.
