AMUSEMENTS

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

There was a large attendance at the Foresters' Hall last evening, to witness the screening of a new series of films. These were all of a high standard, and fully merited the loud applause they received. Pat-he's Australian Gazette illustrated countless little happenings of recent occurrence.. "The Life of a Honey Bee" was most interesting, and the bee farm, with its multitude of inhabitants, was shown very clearly. A very fine scenic was "Harvest-.in Sicily," in which the harvesting .scene was very picturesque. "A Maniac" was weird,. ibut it had a pleasing •, conclusion. "Carr's Regeneration showed how a cripple child brought Oarr, who had fallen very low.in the world, back to manhood. ".Luck of Reckless Ready" was a splendid American ranch story full of stirring episodes. The comic side of the bill at fare was all that could bo desired, and the audience twas compelled to give vent to their feelings in hearty laughter. _ "Some mothers-in-law" was very comical. An artistic and in.terr-sting vaudeville turn was given by "The Club Swingers," whose feats were of an- exceptional character. During the screening of these pictures the orchestra ■played appropriate accompaniments, and added considerable enjoyment to the entertainment by their music. The above programme will be scrpened again this evening.
