LICENSE REFUSED
AN OBDURATE MINISTER
MANDAMUS ISSUED.

MELBOURNE, March 25
Mr W. A. Wait, State Treasurer, refused to issue a liquor license for premises at Edgarton, near Wonth•aggi. The matter was taken to Court, and a mandamus calling;on him to ■issue a license "obtained." Mr Watt still refuses to issue a license on the ground of high public policy. He says he does not think the Judge can compel him to issue a license.
