A "MEET" IN MASTERTON. With -a view to encouraging the j formation of a Motor Cycling Club in ] the Wairarapa, a suggestion was recently made by the Wellington Club that a "meet" should be arranged in tho Wairarapa for Sunday. This sugwasreadily' accepted by the :local motor cyclists, and the 4 'meet", took- place yesterday' under; favourable auspices/ ; About - half a dpzbn members of the'' Club arrived j on Saturday evening; and on Sunday morning,' they,; in company .with the; local mot<?ci§ts, assembled at tho Post' Office at 9.80 a.m. Forces were divided, half going to the north to meet a contingent from Palmerston North, and the other half going to the south to meet the Wellington cyclists. Tho ■Pahnerston motorists-fooi'e met a few miles this side of Eketahuna", and the Wellingtonians at Abbot's Creek, near Feathers ton. The two contingents arrived in MSkstertori at one o'clock. By this time the muster was about eighty strong. The motorists partook of dinner at the Club Cafe, and afterwards an informal meeting was held, when it was decided to ..take steps in the near future to form a Club in Masterton. On behalf of the local motor cyclists, Mr J. D. S. Heaton thanked I 'Mr Bridge, of the Wellington Club, I for his presence and the interest he. i had manifested in the formation of a Wairarapa Club. ■••■ Mr ,Bridge replied that ho was pleased to see so many local enthusiasts, and he hoped that a strong Club would eventually exist in : the Wairarapa.- Mr Heaton was asked to take the initiative in forming a local Club, nnd it is probable that a meeting will be held at an early date. N The visiting motorists left on their return at 2.30, being escorted for a portion of the journey by local motorists.
