A mob of women, dissatisfied witfl iho lukewarmness of the Nanking Assembly on the question of women s franchise, invaded the * Assembly/ smashed the windows, mauled the guards, and" terrorised members into opening the question.
A MILLION LOAN. ; (ReceiveOlarch 23, 11.30 a.m.) PEKIN, March 22. Great Britain, America, Franco and Ciermany are protesting against an Anglo-Belgian loan of a million pounds sterling, signed on the 14th March, and ratified by the Nanking Assembly. The loan is to be a first charge on the Kalgan railway, and is described us violating the conditions embodied in Notes previously exchanged between t'he President of the Chinese Republic and Banks in the protesting countries.
