THE JUDGES' WORK!
Although Judge-Edwards made it clear in the Supreme Court at Masterton' on Saturday last, that he had not ibeen habitually working from sixteen to eighteen hours a day, he left iio doubt as to the fact that he, in common with other Judges, had been 1 very much overworked during the last (Uvelve .months. 'This is probably" due ,t<i> the absence on leave of • Judge i Cooper. As it will be for cliher Judges to have leave, and as the work of. the Courts is naturally increasing with the .population, it \ must be obvious that the Bench must j be -strengthened in the near future.] Meanwhile, irfie Government should I refrain, as far as possible, from creating special work for the Judges to do.
