HOME MARKETS. Tlie.New Zealand Loan and Mercants?S Agency Co., LTd., Masterton, report having received the following cablegram from their London House: Wheat: Sold at 38s, c.i.f., Australian cargo. Market firm, but inactive. Outlook uncertain. Wool sales : Third series postponed until July 2nd, limit 250,000 bales. Fourth series, 24th : September. Fifth series, 26th November.

EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Eketaihuna sale yesterday.as follows—The yarding conducted by the associated firms was again a particularly Tieavy one, the wliole accommodation available not being, sufficient, many of the alleys having to be made use of for temporary pens. The. attendance was good, but business at auction dragged, and "hard" sale has to be reported. Very little, however, was turned out unsold. Good sound ewes, store wethers, and lambs were in demand,, and sold readily, but at prices somewhat lower than recorded at recent sales. A 'fair yarding of mixed cattle was offered, winch met good competition, practically everything changing hands at. current rates. Quotations:—iS.m. owes, 9s 3d to 10s 7d; and Up to lis 5d fora good-conditioned lot, including a number of young sheep; ewes, with failing mouths, 6s to 7s 8d; 2-tooth ewes, 10s to 10s lOd, and 12s 6d for an extra good line. 2-tooth wethers, lis 6d to 12s 3d; good shorn lambs, 6s to 7s 9d;' culls, 4s" 3d to 4s lOd; woolly lambs, small', 5s to 6s 9d; fat cows, £5 12s to £6 15s; cull cows and calves, £2 j 18s 6d to £3 10s; yearling heifers, 30s ' to £3; weaners, mixed, 30s. ! At the I commencement of the sale bidding was ! rather slow at auction, but improved 1 later on, and with the exception of a .few linea we were successful in disposing of the bulk of our entry. Prices for all sorts of good sound sheep were well-maintained, but for aged and inferior sorts there was only a limited ' demand. Following is a list of prices: Cull lambs, 3s lid to 4s lOd ; medium I lamba, 'ss 6d to 6s M; woolly lambs, ' 6s 6d to 8s; cull ewes', 4s to 6s sd; s.m. ewes, 8s 9d to 9s Id; forward ewes, to 10s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, lis 6d to 12s 3d. On account of Mr J. Cross, Alfrcdton, wo sold a line of 350 wethers at 12s, and a line of 670 f.m. ewes at 9s Id; Lincoln rams, Ign to Hgns; Itom'ney rams, to 2gns; English Leicester rams, to Hgns. Cattle : Cull yearlings, 30s; empty cows, £3; cows and calves, £3 2s 6d; 18month and 2-year steers, £3 3s to £4 Is; heifers, in calf, £4 is; fat cows, I £5 15$.
