TERRIBLE EXPLOSION
HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received March 21, 11.45 a.m.) XiEW YORK, March 20. An underground gas explosion wrecked twenty dwellings in the Dimmore mining district. Two families were blown to pieces or burned to deaiOi, and several houses were completely destroyed by fire. ■Seven women and two children are known to bo dead.
.Earth settings within the mines are believed to have caused the explosion .

Reports from Fort .'Smith, in Arkansas, state that it has been telephoned there that a great disaster has occurred at the Sanbois Coal Company's mine at MeCurtain, in Oklahoma , A gas explosion occurred, entombing eighty "men, ail of whom are believed to be dead.
