Motor Cycle Club'? sports fheld on the Hastings _ Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically wept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machine® representing 6 different iuake» the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance ib all the more remarkable when it is considered tihat tie Triumphs jbad to concede targe handicaps to machines ol equal! power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30tih, Mr ,T. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs 35min., e&tablisihed by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph, in spite of< several attempts oil other makea of machines, this record, has stood' to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Erath wait© left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. oo New Year's Day, amd arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hrs. 38miu., Towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from < start to finish, _the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that oan average 331 miles an. hour over 230 miles of New ZeaSand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish oouftl not fcnelp but remark on. the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph' is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and ia perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
