RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS

The scheme is now to be governed' by a Research Scholarship Board for each 1 Univ.ei,sity, consisting, of the Professors of. Natural andV-Splpiied Science. .Tlie • regulations gazetted to-aiight- provddb that, as soon as any person is elected to a research scholarship, the Minister of Education shall nominate an expert in the particular branch. of research concerned tt) be a member of the Beard; for the purpose of assisting in the supervision of the work or scholar. The scholarships (of -vliiciT there is to be cue each annually for the four Universities), are t'o be te«nable for four years, and to be of a vahie oi' £IOO per annum, together with college laboratory fees, the cost of special apparatus or special books, required for the purpose of research, and actual travelinvg fares or cost of transit while the holder is engaged on the work cf research.
