NEW ZEALAND FORECAST (By Telegraph — Press Association.) WELLINGTON, .Last NightThe Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issuod the following report:— The cyclonic disturbance now centred off Great Barrier Island has ruled the atmospheric conditions northward of Greymouth and Kaikoura.' South-east gales have prevailed at many stations, with gloomy weather and rain in many part*. The barometer has fallen lev.- in the north, but remained steady and high in the South. Present indications are for southeasterly winds, -strong to gale, backing to southerly, northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura. Moderate to strong southerly winds elsewhere. Raiu is probable over the North Island, heavy on the East Coast and in parts of the South Island, and cool, changeable weather elsewhere. The harom-eter will probably rise everywhere after about ten hours. Heavy seas are expected at the East Cape, Kaikoura, and Cook Strait.
