THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH.
WONDERFUL &£A)itD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club'a Bports held on the- Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, tihe Triumphs again practically Tvept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machine® representing 5 different makes the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered tihat the Triumphs had to concede I'arge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten, first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday. December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs 35min., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record 118* stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Bnathwiaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, amd arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., hiß time being 6brs. 38min., lowering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to'fim-sh, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines mad© from the finest material procurable that can average 33£ miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zfeailiand roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish couTd not help hut remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for # hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted! to ' New Zealand roads. We can deliver both fixed a&5 free engine models from stock, and would be pleased to give trial runs to intending puroh- | asers at aH times.
